We have a unique opportunity for a Director of Commercial to join us at Rodericks Dental Partners. This role will have responsibility for leading and developing RDP’s commercial strategy, driving sustainable revenue growth across NHS and private dentistry.
Areas of Responsibility
Commercial Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop, own and execute the commercial strategy in line with organisational goals to drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Lead and manage key commercial categories, including Hygiene, Implants, Orthodontics, Private General Dentistry and Dental Plans.
- Build, strengthen and expand B2B and supplier relationships, negotiating commercial terms to maximise value and profitability.
- Represent commercial performance at Executive and Board level, articulating insights, priorities and strategic progress.
- Partner with Marketing and Operations to ensure commercial initiatives are successfully translated into practice-level action.
- Plan and lead Practice Manager Conferences to embed commercial goals and drive engagement across the network.

- Lead the weekly commercial group and present commercial performance, ensuring clear focus on priorities, outcomes and corrective actions.
- Take accountability for commercial budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, contractual and ethical standards within the dentistry sector.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide visible, values-based leadership to the Commercial team and wider organisation.
- Set clear direction, priorities and performance expectations aligned to the commercial strategy.
- Coach and develop direct reports, building capability and succession strength within the commercial function.
- Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate the commercial strategy clearly and consistently at all levels, ensuring understanding and alignment.
- Translate complex commercial data into clear, actionable insights for non-commercial audiences.
- Deliver impactful presentations to the Board, Executive team, Regional Leaders and practice-level stakeholders.
- Build trust and credibility through transparent, timely and engaging communication.
- Influence senior stakeholders, suppliers and partners through strong relationship and negotiation skills.
- Work closely with Marketing to ensure commercial priorities inform brand, proposition and campaign planning that drives measurable growth.
Operational Delivery & Execution
- Partner with Operations to translate commercial strategies into executable, practice-level plans.
- Ensure commercial initiatives are operationally feasible, scalable and consistently delivered across the estate.
- Identify operational risks or barriers to delivery and implement corrective actions in collaboration with Clinical and Operational leadership.
- Balance commercial ambition with a strong focus on patient experience, clinical quality and compliance.
- Leverage operational insight and performance data to refine and improve commercial execution over time.
Experience
Essential
- Significant senior commercial leadership experience, ideally within dentistry, healthcare, retail healthcare or a multi-site service environment.
- Proven track record of developing and delivering successful commercial strategies.
- Strong experience of category management and B2B commercial relationships.
- Experience presenting at Board and Executive level.
- Demonstrable financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning.
Desirable
- Experience within mixed NHS / private dentistry environments.
- Knowledge of dental plans, private dentistry growth strategies and supplier ecosystems.
- Experience leading change and commercial transformation programmes.
- Postgraduate qualification (MBA).
- Professional commercial or leadership accreditation.
