ER Advisor

 Are you an experienced professional in Employee Relations looking to make a significant impact? We are seeking an ER Advisor to provide expert advice and support on a wide range of employee relations issues. This role is crucial in ensuring our company’s ER practices are legally compliant, fair, and consistent, fostering a positive and productive workplace.

 Salary up to  £35,000 per annum (DOE) - Full time 40 hours a week 

 Location: Hybrid / Northampton Head Office (3 days Northampton Head office , 2 days home)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expert Advice: Serve as the first point of contact for line managers on ER matters, offering specialist advice and solutions in line with current legislation, including disciplinary actions, grievances, investigations, restructures, and capability issues.
  • Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload of ER issues, ensuring prompt, fair, and compliant handling in accordance with company policies and UK employment law.
  • Support for Line Managers: Provide end-to-end support and advice on ER issues, including policy interpretation, procedure guidance, and best practices during hearing adjournments.
  • Absence Management: Guide line managers through the long-term absence management process, including occupational health referrals, to minimize absence duration and support the return-to-work process.
  • Documentation: Draft and review complex ER letters as needed.
  • Escalation: Escalate complex ER cases to the Head of HR Ops or Regional HRBPs when necessary.
  • Tracking and Reporting: Accurately record all ER support outcomes and maintain the ER tracking tool for lessons learned and future reference.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the creation, review, and implementation of ER policies and procedures, ensuring effective communication and consistent application across the organization.
  • Mediation and Conflict Resolution: Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution to foster a positive working environment and amicably resolve disputes.
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver training programs for managers and employees on ER-related topics, such as handling grievances and conducting disciplinary meetings.
  • Data Analysis: Maintain accurate records of ER cases, provide regular reports on ER metrics, and analyse data to identify trends and recommend proactive measures.
  • Stakeholder Management:   Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and partner to the business.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Employee Relations
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law
  • Excellent case management skills
  • Ability to handle complex ER issues and escalate when necessary
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in policy development and training delivery
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting
  • CIPD qualified or working towards
