Job Title: Financial Accountant
Location: Northampton Head Office
Hours of Work: Full Time
Overview
The role of Financial Accountant to take ownership of the acquisition accounting, produce statutory accounts, manage NHS contracts, as well as assist with several month end tasks.
You will need to have excellent attention to detail and be able to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibility Areas
Acquisitions
- Partner, where appropriate, with Finance business partner to support due diligence and pre acquisition activity
- Own post completion activities and associated preparation for integration into finance
- Own all acquisition accounting and management of key sale and purchase agreement clauses
- Work to improve the acquisition process by evaluating current processes, driving efficiencies, and providing insightful financial information
Financial Control
- Own the group audit process
- Prepare consolidation entries for the management and statutory accounts
- Prepare statutory accounts for entities within the group
- Review of balance sheet for group companies
- Own all Financial Conduct Authority returns and submissions
- Prepare and submit all VAT returns for the group
- Provide support to external tax advisors where necessary and management internal tax compliance requirement
- Work alongside the management accounts team to assist with financial reporting
- Collate practice level reports and provide meaningful financial analysis
- Provide support to the wider financial control team where necessary
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
- Experience (either in practice or industry) of acquisition accounting
- CaseWare or similar system experience
- Hybrid Working

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both to financial and non-financial audiences
- Advanced excel skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Able to present robust and defensible commentary of financial, risk and compliance decisions.
