Head of Central Operations 

Rodericks Dental Partners is a dental group with over 220 dental practices in England & Wales. We provide excellent NHS and private dental care to thousands of patients every week.  

We are currently looking for a Head of Central Operations. 

Purpose of this role:

The Head of Central Operations will oversee both the strategic and operational management of the organization's central operations, ensuring efficient and high-quality service delivery across all service areas. Responsible for overseeing all site activities, serving as gatekeepers and air traffic controllers, and ensuring the implementation of operations at site level. This role involves working closely with key stakeholders within the business to identify and seize opportunities for operational efficiency without compromising service delivery or quality of care. Managing the central operations team and other stakeholders, this position ensures a ‘go-to’ environment for the sites, providing the necessary operational expertise to assist, guide, and support teams. This role requires a dynamic leader with exceptional organizational, analytical, and leadership skills to drive operational excellence, streamline processes, and support the organization's growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management and Strategy

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the central office, ensuring all administrative, financial, and logistical functions are executed effectively.
  • Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality across all locations.
  • Manage and optimize the use of technology and software systems to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
  • Support Strategic Objectives for regional roles and central teams.
  • Represent and co-ordinate operations input into strategic projects.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for central operations in alignment with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure the organization remains competitive and innovative.
  • Review contracts regularly to reduce costs and explore opportunities to reduce spend
  • Operational Calendar:  Manage and prioritise tasks centrally and ensure full communication with our network of practices 
  • Maximise trading by working in conjunction with all functions and managing stakeholders to ensure no barriers to our practices performance 
  • Delivery and Implementation: Identify risks and provide solutions in order to maximise performance and revenue delivery 

Team Leadership/Stakeholder engagement

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the central operations team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide professional development opportunities for team members.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members and across departments.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, Practice managers, and other key stakeholders to align operational strategies and initiatives.
  • build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and meetings as needed.

Customer/Patient Focus

  • Complaints and escalation process
  • Best practice and standardisation of complaints process providing reporting and escalation to deliver patient SLA’s.
  • Identify Trends and Solutions Analysis of complaints and feedback Monitor speed of response to complaints

Financial Management and Quality assurance and Compliance

  • Develop and manage the central operations budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Oversee procurement and inventory management to ensure cost-efficiency and adequate supply levels.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies, including health and safety requirements.
  • Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to maintain high standards of patient care and service delivery.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues or concerns promptly and effectively.

The Ideal Candidate: 

  • Field and central experience to senior management level
  • General Management experience including managing budgets and achieving ebitda
  • Proven track record of successful leadership and team management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using operations management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in the healthcare industry.
  • Degree level qualification or extensive operational experience in a regional role
